2008 Gulf Coast Agribusiness Conference Highlights

As part of a regional effort to improve agribusiness profitability and sustainability through education and advocacy, TEAM along with the University of Florida-IFAS, Santa Rosa County and Santa Rosa County Cooperative Extension Services present the 2008 Gulf Coast Agribusiness Conference. The conference is scheduled for Thursday, February 21, 2008 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the West Florida Research and Education Center in Jay, FL.

This year's conference, "Growing for the Future," will feature a review and update of Florida's agribusiness from Florida Farm Bureau, an example of an Agritourism success story from a Mississippi farmer, a view of Alternative Energy from University of Florida, Milton campus and Santa Rosa County's own, Commissioner Bob Cole, updates us on his Biodiesel efforts. The conference presents highly useful strategies for improving the profitability and sustainability of regional farmers by adding value to their product, diversifying their crop mix and protecting their land for future generations.
