In 2004, TEAM led a mission to the country of Panama. Eight industries took part in the mission, four from Santa Rosa County. The mission resulted in $11.5 million in sales for those industries, demonstrating the value of expanding markets to foreign countries.

EFI recently awarded a grant to TEAM Santa Rosa that will enable us to better focus on foreign trade and the potential to subsidize mission participation for Santa Rosa County industries. We look forward to talking with you about the abundant opportunities that exist.

Enterprise Florida Inc. (EFI), the State's economic development organization, is devoted to diversifying Florida's economy and to creating better-paying jobs for its citizens by supporting, attracting and helping to create businesses in innovative, high-growth industries.

EFI's International Trade and Business Development Division (ITBD) helps Florida companies enter or expand in the international marketplace through a variety of programs, including export counseling, overseas outbound and inbound trade missions, an international trade lead network, as well as a network of foreign offices in 13 foreign countries. International Marketing Specialists in six EFI field offices help Florida companies explore opportunities in overseas markets with a wide range of market research, as well as baseline legal and logistical advice.

EFI also markets the state and its strategic location advantages to companies worldwide and has helped Florida emerge as a hotspot for foreign direct investment (FDI). Florida ranks 5th in the nation, in terms of employment by foreign-affiliated firms, and 11th among all U.S. in total holdings by non-U.S. companies in 2004 (most recent data available).

Additionally, EFI's Business Retention and Recruitment (BR&R) Division helps companies interested in a Florida location or expansion with business incentives, community profiles, regulatory assistance and numerous other programs designed to create high-skill, high-value jobs that help diversify Florida's economy.

TEAM Santa Rosa works closely with the U.S. Commercial Service to educate industry about the resources available in over 80 foreign countries.
